Ontario, Dec 22 (IBNS): Internshala, an internship and online training platform, on Friday signed a letter of agreement the Canada-India Centre for Excellence at Carleton University to facilitate student internships.

Through this collaboration, Internshala and CICE are looking to widen the horizon of global opportunities for students in both the countries through internships.

This partnership, aims to create internship opportunities for Indian students at Carleton University in Canada and for Carleton University students in India.

Internshala will deliver webinars to Carleton University students to help them understand how to find an internship in India.

The platform will also provide career guidance and support to the students. CICE would connect Internshala with the Startup-Visa program community and incubators including Carleton University incubation centre 'Lead to Win' to hire Indian interns.

Established in 2011, CICE is a research and training centre which works toward strengthening the bilateral ties between Canada and India. CICE has partnered with Carleton University under its Capacity Building mandate to develop custom professional development and academic offerings for India students, businesses, and professionals.

Harry Sharma, Manager, CICE said, "We are excited to partner with Internshala and hope to help Carleton University find internships in India and also help Indian students connect with opportunities in Canada. This partnership will not just strengthen the ties between Canada and India but would open the doors of global opportunities for the youth in both the countries."

Founded in 2010, Internshala offers 40,000+ internships every year. Over 2.5 million students and 70,000 organisations use the platform. Students can find internships in all domains including engineering, management, humanities, applied arts, architecture, design, law, and so forth.

Speaking on partnership, Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder and CEO of Internshala said, "Since 2010, we at Internshala have been on a steady mission to bring exciting opportunities for Indian students. The partnership with CICE will not only help us provide international internships for students in India but would help us give the Canadian students a global exposure. India has the 3rd largest startup ecosystem in the world on one hand and on the other hand, it is poised to be the third largest consumer market in the world by 2025. This will also give the students of Carleton University a better understanding of a diverse economy."
