Kolkata, July 26 (IBNS): Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, has helped Presidency University, a 200-year old center of higher learning in Kolkata, ideate and convert an old laboratory into a lecture hall with a seating capacity of 160.

The renovation has helped the institution expand its infrastructure to be at par with other eminent institutions in the country.

The lecture hall, renamed the P.C. Mahalnobis Auditorium was dedicated to Prof PC Mahalanobis, Professor of Physics, and Principal of Presidency College (from 1946-1948), on his 125th birth anniversary, this year.

This revamped lecture hall has already hosted 15 public lectures by eminent speakers from across departments, benefiting over 2,500 students and faculty.
