Jipmer to conduct computer-based online exam for MBBS course next month

Puducherry,May 31(UNI) Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, will conduct a common computer-based on-line Entrance examination for admission into MBBS course, 2019 session on June 2.

According to a Jipmer release on Friday, the examination will be in two shifts (Morning and Afternoon) across the country for filling up of 200 seats, 150 seats for JIPMER Puducherry Campus and 50 seats for Karaikal Campus.

A total of 1,84,272 candidates had applied for the Entrance Examination. In the morning shift, 94,073 candidates and in the afternoon shift 90,199 candidates will write the exam.

The timings for the morning shift will be from 10 AM to 1230 PM and afternoon shift from 3 PM to 5.30 PM.

The examination will be conducted in 280 centers in 132 cities of 25 states across the country.

As many as 2279 candidates are appearing for the examination in seven centers in Puducherry.The merit list will be published before June 21 ,the first counselling will be held in the last week of June and classes will commence from first week of July, the release said.
