New Delhi, June 27 (IBNS): AISECT, which works in semi-urban and rural parts of India, to empower people through skill development, has partnered with Microfocus HPE to train over 500 students in a year on high-end niche skills.

Under the partnership, AISECT aims to deliver skilling not only through ICT-based classroom sessions but also assist students with live and semi-live projects, virtual internships, on the job training as well as placement support.

Microfocus HPE was formed after Hewlett Packard Enterprise acquired Micro Focus as part of its business segment.

AISECT’s association with Microfocus HPE will have two major streams - Retail and Integrated B.Tech Programmes.

Students will be provided specialization courses across five skills, i.e. Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, DevOps & Dockers, Cyber Security, Big Data and Quality Engineering.

The training will be provided in three phases starting with AISECT Group of Universities across five cities, including Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, Bhopal and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, Hazaribagh in Jharkhand and Vaishali in Bihar.

The programme will later spread to other cities including Bangalore in Karnataka, Hyderabad in Telangana, Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Jaipur in Rajasthan, along with North Eastern states.

Talking about the partnership, AISECT’s Executive Vice President Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “With this partnership, we are hoping to bridge the skills gap that exists in the IT industry due to the rapidly changing industry requirements. We will be providing joint certification to the students where Microfocus will be the Subject Matter Expert and AISECT will be the Implementer. The two organizations will work in tandem to create the courses. Combining the subject expertise of Microfocus with our experience in the skilling sector and knowledge of the market demand, we hope to create a pool of trained manpower ready for future jobs.”

Under the Retail Programme, the students will be provided 180-200 hours of training, which will be spread over three months.

To be eligible for the Retail Programme, candidates need to be at least 12th pass and fulfill the eligibility criteria for the specialization course they want to pursue.

All the courses under the programme will also have projects and industry exposure through mentors from the industry.

Under the 1 Year and 2 Year B.Tech Integrated Programmes, students can opt for the specialization course of their choice along with their regular courses at any of the five universities under the AISECT Group of Universities.

These courses will have virtual internships with Fortune 500 companies and live/semi-live projects before the final year and placements.

These programme are not restricted only for IT vertical but students from other allied courses will also be eligible for the integrated programme.

Students and professionals from other allied and relevant fields will also have an option to enroll in these programmes and up-skill themselves for better job roles and profiles.

Youth in the age group of about 21 to 30 would be the primary beneficiaries of these programmes.
