Union Budget outlays INR 99,300 crore for education sector

New Delhi/IBNS: India will spend INR 99,300 in the education sector in 2020-21, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in her budget speech on Saturday.

Presenting the Budget 2020, the Finance Minister said besides the Rs 99,300 crore outlay for education sector in 2020-21 , a sum of Rs 3,000 crore has been earmarked for skill development. The Finance Minister also announced degree-level full-fledged online education programme to be offered by the top 100 institutions in the country.

She also said that an IND-SAT exam will be held in African and Asian countries, for benchmarking foreign candidates who wish to study in India.
