IIT Guwahati hosts Research & Industrial Conclave 2023, igniting innovation and collaboration in Northeast India
Guwahati/IBNS: The Research and Industrial Conclave 2023 (RIC 23) was recently held at IIT Guwahati, aiming to provide a platform for various stakeholders such as students, innovators, entrepreneurs, industry experts, policymakers, and investors to exchange ideas and showcase their products and services.
The event had a special focus on the northeastern states of India, reported EastMojo.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, CMD of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, and Prof. Sashindra K. Kokoty, Dy. Director of IIT Guwahati. The conclave attracted more than 600 participants from diverse backgrounds, including students, investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and academicians.
Eminent speakers at the conclave included Prof. Abhay Ashtekar from Pennsylvania State University, Prof. Subhash Kak from Oklahoma State University, Dr. Binoy Kumar Saikia from the North East Institute of Science and Technology, and Dr. Rubul Mout from Harvard Medical School.
They shared their expertise in theoretical physics, computer science, organic chemistry, and biomedical research, inspiring attendees with their groundbreaking work.
The event also featured the Abhilasha Design Workshop, organized by the Design Innovation Centre of IIT Guwahati. Over 1,200 school students participated in the workshop, which aimed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving.
The students had the opportunity to visit advanced laboratories at IIT Guwahati and interact with experts in various fields.
The Research & Industry Conclave aimed to showcase ongoing research activities, foster collaboration between industry and academia, provide a platform for showcasing concepts and ideas to investors, and encourage young minds toward research and innovation.
Talks at the conclave covered topics such as artificial intelligence, value-added carbon products from coal resources, and protein engineering.
Overall, the Research and Industrial Conclave at IIT Guwahati served as a catalyst for interdisciplinary discussions and networking opportunities, driving advancements in various fields and shaping the future of research and industry.
