Guwahati/IBNS: Handique Girls' College, renowned for its commitment to delivering quality education, is poised to transform into Handique Women's University. With a rich history of academic excellence, the college is expanding its academic offerings to create more opportunities for its students.
Dr. Ranjit Sharma, Principal of Handique Girls' College, revealed the institution's ambitious plans in an exclusive interview with Guwahati Plus. "As we already offer a wide range of courses expected from a college or university, we are now introducing new programs to further diversify our academic portfolio," stated Dr. Sharma.
The college, known for its dedication to meeting the educational needs of women, is conducting extensive research to determine the most suitable courses for its female students.
This research-driven approach aims to ensure that the courses offered resonate with the interests and aspirations of the women studying at the institution.
As part of its transition to a university, Handique Girls' College is set to introduce a host of new courses, including BA B.Ed Integrated, Sociology (at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels), as well as a range of commerce stream courses such as BCom, MCom, BBA, and BA LLB.
Moreover, the college plans to expand its academic programs in the future, with a goal of introducing at least 25 courses for the proposed Handique Women's University.
This substantial expansion of academic offerings not only signifies the growth of the college but also demonstrates its unwavering commitment to advancing women's education.
To facilitate this transformation, Dr. Sharma emphasized that Handique Girls' College would become a constituent college with its own proper administration, thus ensuring a seamless transition to university status.
The metamorphosis of Handique Girls' College into Handique Women's University heralds a significant milestone in its journey.
The transformation will provide enhanced educational opportunities for women and contribute to the overall advancement of women's education in the region.
