J&K: Hafiz-e-Quran girl qualifies for NEET 2023, highlights the importance of balancing faith and education
Srinagar/IBNS: Baseerah Mehraj, a talented Hafiz-e-Quran girl hailing from the Noorbagh area, has achieved a remarkable feat by successfully qualifying for the NEET 2023 examination.
Her exceptional accomplishment has captured widespread attention, drawing praise for her unwavering dedication and hard work.
Mehraj, who fervently performs Ati and Tahajjud prayers during the night, begins her day by reciting the Holy Quran. Recognizing the significance of striking a harmony between religious teachings and worldly education, she emphasized that both aspects complement each other, shaping one's character and worldview.
Speaking to ANI, she stated, "Maintaining decorum between the teachings of our faith and the knowledge acquired through schools and universities is crucial."
The journey towards Mehraj's success began in 2019 when she completed the memorization of the Quran at the local Madrassa Darul Baiyan while simultaneously pursuing her studies in the 10th grade.
Her father, Mehraj, expressed his joy and gratitude for his daughter's exceptional achievements, underscoring the importance of a strong educational foundation combined with spiritual devotion. He shared his concerns, stating, "I have always supported her in her entire journey and will continue to do so. I wanted her to excel not only academically but also in her character development."
Upon witnessing his daughter's impressive marks in the 10th grade, Mehraj decided to support her ambition of becoming a doctor. He appealed to all parents, urging them to prioritize the holistic education of their children, encompassing both worldly knowledge and religious teachings.
