Kolkata, Nov 21 (IBNS): Director Mainak Bhaumik and his team from the upcoming film 'Generation Ami' were present at Max Fashion's Winter collection launch in Kolkata where the leading pair also participated in a fashion show.

Actors Sauraseni Maitra and Rwitobroto Mukerjee were the showstoppers at the event held at the fashion brand's Lake Mall outlet in south Kolkata.

Rajiv Mukherjee, AVP Marketing East, said, "At Max Fashion, we are the only value fashion players to sell fashion. We have got a unique collection this year and the best of the Western world here. Clothing options are available for everybody. Our ranges vary from Rs. 399 to Rs. 499. We have around 5,000 styles under Rs. 599, so we have the best range in the best affordable price."

Talking about her winter fashion, Sauraseni Maitra said, "Winters are quite enjoyable here. I love layering my clothes. It’s the best time to wear hoodies because no one knows what you’re wearing inside! I love shopping from Max since the collection is very trendy here."

Later, the director and the cast spoke about the film.

On being asked if the characters in ‘Generation Aami’ share any similarity with those from late director Satyajit Ray’s ‘Pather Panchali’ as their names coincide, Bhaumik said, "The names Apu and Durga are very common in Bengal. Durga is a tomboy and it she who pushes her brother to do things. So it transferred me to Bibhuthibhushan’s novel which was later made into Pather Panchali. I wanted to pick timeless characters, so I ended up selecting these names."

Offering an insight into the film ‘Generation Aami’, Maitra said, "The film is about a story on growing up and depicts several generations. It is a sweet film, more like a family drama."

Rwitobroto Mukherjee said, "I play Apu who is a 16 year old, likes to play guitar and pens lyrics. However, he has a strict mother and has no freedom. The film takes a turn when Durga, his sister comes in and gives him a taste of freedom."

Veteran actor Aparajita Addya, who is also part of the film, said, "This is a very practical and youth oriented film. More importantly, it is a feel good movie."

‘Generation Aami’, a coming of age movie based on friendship, parenting and growing up, is scheduled to be released on November 23, 2018.
