Organisations in Murshidabad come together to prevent human trafficking
Kolkata/IBNS: Path Welfare Society, an organisation which has been working in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal since 2010, recently unveiled a joint action plan with the Border Security Post (BSF, Khandua Post) and the Bilbora Kopra Gram Panchayat, to prevent human trafficking and gender violence.
Path Welfare Society has been working on creating awareness among women and youth, including children, regarding how to protect themselves from various forms of violence and injustice.
According to a release from the Society, it has facilitated the formation of over 48 village level child protection committees (VLCPCs) in Murshidabad district.
The release also said that the Society, the BSF and the Gram Panchayat will meet on a regular basis to assess the situation and to ensure the local people are safe from trafficking and other violence perpetrated against them.
