Kolkata mall hosting Christmas special bakery festival till December 25
Kolkata/IBNS: For an early start to the Christmas celebrations, you may visit the ‘Flavours of Bakery’ Festival being held at the Acropolis Mall in Kolkata.
Decorated with Christmas paraphernalia, the mall is hosting the festival till December 25 (between noon and 10pm) this year.
The festival was inaugurated by actress Sayantani Guhathakurta in the presence of K Vijayan, GM, Acropolis Mall, and Rukmini Paul, President, Pathchala (a non-profit organisation working in the Kalighat area of the city).
In keeping with the spirit of the season, the Mall invited children from Pathchala, to visit the festival.
The children sang Christmas carols during the inauguration and participated in a one-minute cake eating contest.
Later, they were presented with gift hampers.
Some of the brands participating in the bakery festival are The Cake Boutique, Khadure, Royale Confectioners, Flurys, Cakelicious, Mambo’s, Turkisyano, Choco Fantasy and The Lalit Great Eastern.
Apart from the usual range of cakes, pastries, tarts and cookies, the goodies on sale also included Dundee cake, French Vol Au Vent, caramel filling chocolate and fresh strawberry dip, biryani ice cream, etc.
Said K Vijayan, said, “We are all set to enjoy the yuletide season and we hope guests would enjoy their winter shopping spree and also the freshly baked cakes.”
He said that many brands in the shopping mall were offering discounts on their products.
Rukmini Paul expressed her gratitude to Acropolis Mall and Merlin Group for the fun-filled evening presented to the children member of her organisation and said that the Group is also helping towards the children’s education.
Acropolis Mall is hosting the festival in association with Friends FM and Bhoj Adda.
