Fun fiesta at Canadian National Exhibition

Toronto, Sep 1 (IBNS): The Canadian National Exhibition, popularly known as The Ex is in full swing with local visitors and even foreign guests gathering to enjoy the various attractions on offer.

An untiring 82-year-old Helen, who walked around the 150 acre exhibition arena, said, “I have been coming to the Exhibition since I was a young girl. Earlier I used to bring my kids, now my children and grandchildren bring me here to enjoy the varied display and to get the festive feel.”

“Over the years it has grown a lot and every year it surprises us with something new and leaves us spellbound”, Helen said, “And that is the real reason that I have never been bored all these years to come for the CNE.”

For youngsters like Ema Whytell, a University of Toronto student, “CNE is all about fun and excitement in abundance.” I just love to lose myself when I am here.”

Virginia Ludy, CNE’s first female general manager said, “CNE is Canada’s largest community celebration.”

Indicating the CNE Innovation Garage, one of the additions this year that ran for the first three days, Ludy said it was a massive hit among students and young minds. “We showcased the first electric car years back and now, with the Innovation Garage, we just wanted to recreate the old times and bring out new talent,” explained Ludy.

CNE indeed has got a galore of activities where one can just immerse oneself -- from the Casino experience to the Niagara rapids.

For those who loved adventure, there entertaining rides like the Giant Wheel, the Himalaya rides and other roller coasters.

Abhinash Srivastava, a 15-year-old student who came to CNE with his family, said, “Getting a chance to ride that Giant wheel and the roller coaster was something that was a magical blessing for me. I am so enthralled. The ride, in the beginning appeared spine chilling but i thoroughly enjoyed it as I took a ride with my brother,” he exclaimed.

It’s just not all fun on land. CNE has a host of activities along the waterfront too.

“The waterfront stunt show is something that I loved most at the CNE,” said Markos Galeo, a 35-year-old banking professional while his partner, Andrew Gyne said, “The extreme water-sport competitions were just fabulous.”
