Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 announces the exciting new designer pool for the season

Mumbai, Dec 21 (IBNS) The country’s leading fashion and trade platform, Lakmé Fashion Week is all set to give young and upcoming designers yet another opportunity to showcase their talent.

Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 brings in a new bunch of enthusiastic designers under their Gen Next Programme.

This platform is best known to have produced talents like Swapnil Shinde, Masaba and Kallol Dutta. Like always, these designers have been reviewed and hand-picked by the esteemed members of the LFW Advisory Board on the basis of the quality creations, innovation, marketability, originality and ability to take their business to the next level.

As a multi-faceted global fashion platform, Lakmé Fashion Week brings another season of Emerging and Jabong Stage designer to promote India’s upcoming designers. This season will witness 29 outstanding designers in the Gen Next, Emerging and Jabong stage category who will showcase their makings at the LFW SR 2016.

Announcing the talent pool for the next season, Saket Dhankar, Vice-President & Head- Fashion, IMG Reliance Limited said, “Lakme Fashion Week believes in providing the right platform to the young and emerging designers from the fashion world. We take pride in announcing the 21st batch of the Gen Next programme along with a new and exciting set of Emerging and Jabong Stage designers. I am looking forward to yet another exciting year with the new talent on board.”

Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovations, Lakmé, said, “Season after season, our aim has been to nurture the creativity and talent of young designers. For the Summer Resort edition of Lakme Fashion Week 2016, we are proud to introduce names that truly define the ‘future of fashion’. The Advisory Board members present at the meeting were designers, Manish Mahotra, Narendra Kumar, Rohit Bal along with Aishwarya Subramanian – Editor Elle, Namrata Zakaria– Columnist, Mehernaaz Dhody- Editor Grazia, Ashu Jindal – COO IMG Reliance, Purnima Lamba- Lakmé Head Innovations and Saket Dhankar-Head Fashion, IMG Reliance.
