Mumbai: Gujarat Titans, the Tata IPL Champions 2022 season launched their exclusive streetwear collection at the Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI in Mumbai. Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans batter, walked the ramp as a showstopper leading a host of other models, to launch the collection designed by Kanika Goyal.

The event took place at the Jio World Convention Centre, India’s largest and foremost venue for marquee exhibitions, conventions, and social events and located in the heart of Mumbai’s business district, Bandra Kurla Complex.

The Tata IPL Champions Gujarat Titans’ collection designed by Kanika Goyal presents athleisure of an innovative kind that will undoubtedly set a trend for relaxed, fun filled, colourful attire for all. Riding on the success and support they got during their debut Tata IPL season, Gujarat Titans aims to offer the fans an experience to own and carry the spirit of the team.

Talking about the streetwear collection, Arvinder Singh, Chief Operating Officer – Gujarat Titans said, “Gujarat Titans have always believed in standing out and engaging with our fans in different ways. As a part of our plan to bring our fans closer to the team, the partnership with Kanika Goyal is another step in that direction. It was wonderful to see Shubman, our up-and-coming young cricketer, as the showstopper at this one of its kind event.”

Kanika Goyal’s eponymous label, KGL, is known for its striking innovations and interplay of colour and texture. For this line, Kanika took inspiration from the many entities of Gujarat. The collection reflects the colours of exuberance - orange, cerulean blue, lilacs and yellows - designed to put the wearer in a celebratory state of mind while cheering on their favourite team - the Gujarat Titans. Stylish panels were the high point of the line, while colour blocking emerged at the forefront.

There will be two segments of athleisure streetwear apparel – the first was the Autumn/Winter line at the Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI and the second, Spring/Summer 2023 collection which will be presented at a later stage.

Here was streetwear that will resonate with cricket fans who are ardent Gujarat Titans followers when they parade the timeless sprit of the team.

Says Kanika Goyal, ‘It’s been exciting to bring together the worlds of cricket and fashion with this collection, which is athleisure infused with the undying spirit of cricket fans. The KGL team and I enjoyed watching the collection come to life on the ramp and we hope the fans enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.’

“At Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, we have always believed that innovative and out of the box collaborations open doors towards a fashion forward world that in turn elevate the Indian fashion ecosystem. Our association with Gujarat Titans this season, which forges a relation between India’s most loved sport and the country’s most prestigious fashion event is a testament to that commitment. We are elated to see this partnership come to fruition on the runway and  excited to launch the new apparel range which will surely excite cricket fans from across the country” said Jaspreet Chandok, Head – RISE Fashion and Lifestyle.
