A taste of Delhi street cuisine for Kolkatans as Kasan- Flavours of India hosts food festival
Kolkata/IBNS: From the soft, succulent and juicy kebabs of the narrow lanes of Delhi-6 to the best parathas of Parathewali Gali, the legacy and aroma of the street foods of India's national capital is now tickling the taste buds of Kolkata food lovers.
City restaurant Kasan- Flavours of India (FOI) is laying out a spread of dishes with the royal flavors of Delhi from their specially curated menu for an ongoing food festival-Daawat-e-Delhi.
Kasan- Flavours of India's culinary tour of Delhi boasts of the flavours and feel of Delhi in every bite. The festival which began on Nov 1 will continue till Nov 20.
The food festival offers some sizzling starters and chilling refreshments. Foodies can dig into the spreads comprising Chicken Kasturi Kabab, FOI Special Paneer, Babri Aloo, Dahi Kebab, Chicken Sunehri Kabab, Sufyani Fish and Patiala Fish, followed by refreshing mocktails.
Strawberry Chamomile Martini, Green Goblin and Mickey Mouse were some of the mocktails available at the festival.
The main course included Lahori Pindi Chana, Dal Bukhara, Paneer Makhanwala, Methi Matar Malai and Chicken Tikka Masala complemented by bread.
“We used to mainly serve cooperative guests and used to host parties but now we are slowly transitioning to a family restaurant. We have made several changes to create a more ambient place,” said the owner of Kasan- Flavours of India.
“We are trying to promote this place for families and youth. We have a separate room for family gatherings which helps them to have a memorable conversation,” he added.
“We also love to explore fusion foods,” said the owner.
Kasan- Flavours of India is a restaurant cum bar on A J C Bose Road near Mullick Bazar which is open all seven days of the week. It deals with both dine-in and takeaways besides home delivery.
