Kolkata: First ever outlet of Oudh 1590 at Deshapriya Park gets brand new look

Kolkata's Mughlai restaurant chain Oudh 1590 recently unveiled the refreshed look of its maiden outlet at Deshapriya Park.

With a focus on creating a heritage look, the revamped Oudh 1590 features a sophisticated facade lighting scheme designed by an award-winning illumination consultant.

The dark interiors that once characterised the space have given way to a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere.

The classic copper-based crockery and cutlery have been replaced by custom-made, specially designed flatware and platters adorned with Lucknowi/Awadhi motifs, adding a touch of top-notch elegance to the dining experience altogether.

The transformation extends to every aspect of the restaurant’s decor. Sprawled across approximately 2000 sqft area, the flooring, upholstery and paintings have been carefully curated to create a cohesive and uplifting environment.

The makeover has been masterfully executed by award-winning interior designer Sanjib Saha of J&S Interiors.

Founders Shiladitya and Debaditya Chaudhury said, “We wanted to bring a fresh perspective to Oudh 1590, while maintaining the essence of what makes our restaurant special. The new look is designed to match a minimalistic yet very subtle vibe, creating a space that is both inviting and elegant. Like many others, the decision to change the cutlery was a tough one, involving extensive debate. However, with a heavy heart, we decided to do away with the old and embrace the new.”
