Kolkata, Nov 28 (IBNS): Bookstore chain Starmark, in association with Harlequin India, launched writer Ishani Malhotra's debut novel 'Until I Met You' at its Quest Mall outlet in Kolkata on Friday.
Author Ishani Malhotra, a commerce graduate from the University Of Calcutta, who also holds a post graduate degree in Mass Communication, had worked as a journalist before venturing into this profession.

The author has also published few short stories.

Talking to IBNS about the book, the author said: “This is a romantic novel about a girl name Alisha who gets dumped by her boyfriend Mayukh. After the breakup the protagonist Alisha suffers from a spinal muscle pull which brings her close to Dr. Dishant Roy a Physio  surgeon. Both of them started developing feeling for each other but Dishant is already engaged. So the rest is for the readers to find out whether both of them takes this relationship forward or not.”

“The whole story is based on my personal observations on relationship status that the current generation is going through. I am sure the readers will be able to relate themselves with the characters. Through Alisha I have tried to give a short message to the readers, no matters whatever happens you must be honest to yourself and after a point of time one must try to live life for themselves,” she added.

The journalist- turned- author feels writing a book is quite a difficult job.

“I took almost five months for me to complete this book and another eight months to find a publisher. I never thought that I will ever write a book but the passion of writing has driven me to this profession,” said the author.

On being asked about her favourite author, she said: “I am quite inspired by the works of Jhumpa Lahiri. She has been my biggest inspiration behind this novel of mine."

The book is available at all the Starmark outlets in India.
