Tata Power accomplishes the “Trek100” mission as part of its centenary year celebrations

Mumbai/ Kolkata, Mar 10 (IBNS): Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, recently held its Centenary year celebrations in Mumbai to acknowledge the culmination of its 100 years of operation.

At the very onset of this celebration last year, Tata Power had announced the ‘Trek100’ mission where enthusiastic Tata Power employees took up the challenge of completing 100 treks over the course of the year by setting target dates for achieving specific milestones. Today, Tata Power announced that the Company employees culminated the celebration of 100 glorious years of the Company by achieving the 100 trek mission.

Employees, along with their families from Tata Power divisions across Mumbai, Khopoli, Bangalore, Mundra and Maithon, enthusiastically organized trekking expeditions in Himachal, Uttaranchal, Kutch and Devgiri in addition to many other places. The mission kick started with the first trek being organsied to ‘Tel-Baila’ on on April 22, 2015.

The final and 100th trekking milestone was achieved in 2016, where employees trekked to the Karnala fort on the Mumbai-Goa road. Several pinnacle climbing expeditions were planned as part of the trek, where participants were provided with essential safety gear and training to make the climb successful. The mission also witnessed participation from the visually challenged sections of society in addition to individual families and the Mutual Aid Response Group. 

Speaking on the achievement, Anil Sardana, MD & CEO, Tata Power, said, “We, at Tata Power are delighted that the “Trek100” mission has been successful and that we have been able to accomplish all our targets.
