Lakme and Sabyasachi come together once again for a finale like never before

Kolkata/Mumbai, Aug 9 (IBNS): The upcoming Winter Festive edition of Lakme Fashion Week promises to be bigger and better as celebrated designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee returns to the very stage where he made his debut, but this time as the Lakme Grand Finale Designer.

The audience will be in for a spectacular show as his collection will be inspired by Lakmé’s beauty statement for the season – ‘Illuminate’, a theme that is often mirrored in a signature Sabyasachi design.

Sabyasachi’s garments have always been a showcase of India’s rich heritage and craftsmanship, translating into stellar runway looks.

The designer is known to transform the mundane into gorgeous, breath-taking creations.

His colour palette and use of traditional Indian fabrics create the most regal looks that have set trends globally in the past.

With him interpreting Illuminate, the Lakmé Grand Finale promises to be nothing short of sensational, and an apt end to India’s biggest fashion event.

“It’s a pleasure to work with the Lakmé team, it has been 14 glorious years and I still get overwhelmed by the love and appreciation bestowed on me. Every time I have taken back memories that helped me weave inspirations into my garments,” said Sabyasachi Grand Finale Designer, Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016.

“Sabyasachi’s creations mirror his roots, and we are proud to be associated with someone so extraordinarily talented. We have worked together in the past to create some truly memorable looks. This year with ‘Illuminate’ we can all expect to be awed by the sheer glory he will bring to the finale," said Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation at Lakmé.
