Serendipity Arts Festival celebrates performers and artists of the East

Kolkata, Nov 4, (IBNS): Serendipity Arts Festival, India’s premier, curated, interdisciplinary arts festival, will witness participation from nine celebrated artists and performers from East India.

The names will include artists like Kalam Patua, Gurupada Chitrakar, Pitabas Meher, Shankar Vishwakarma, Sundari Bai, Jhuma Das, Sanjukta Ray and Debjit Mukherjee.

The eight-day festival to be held in Goa from Dec 16 – 23, 2016 aims to create more value for the work of these talented creators, and encourage the evolving arts community through a variety of 40 exciting projects and exhibitions.

It will be a first of its kind multi-disciplinary arts event that will celebrate the diversity in art with a special focus on music, dance, theatre, crafts, visual arts, culinary arts and photography.

Kalam Patua, Gurupada Chitrakar, Pitabas Meher, Shankar Vishwakarma and Sundari Bai will be part of the ‘Indian Crafts: Tradition and Expression’ exhibition, which will represent the idea of craft as constantly evolving and contemporary; allowing innovation within tradition.

Talking about the Festival and artists Preeta Singh, Festival Director, said, “Through this Festival we aim to bring together different disciplines of art on one collaborative platform, making it accessible to all. Partnering with these talented artists and performers is at the heart of the Festival’s mission to make art inclusive, immersive and available to all. We are thrilled to be working with such a diverse and talented mix of artists from across the country.”
