Mexican food and Latino music spice up Monkey Bar's 'Taco Libre Festival'

The festival which commences from March 11 will guide you through an amazing journey, introducing you to the ultimate cheese-oozing, tongue searing, avocado smeared goodness wrapped expertly in a variety of tacos.

Intense and varied flavours, colourful presentation, and a variety of spices form the arsenal which the kitchen will make full use of while belting out these mouthwatering delicacies.

You can choose from the Sausage and Pulled Pork Taco, consisting of bacon, spicy barbeque sauce, red cabbage, pico de gallo, avocado and pork scratchings, the Blackened Cajun Style Shrimp which has charred pineapple salsa and paprika mayo as its key ingredients, Beer Can Chicken made up of shredded chicken, sweet peppers, crumbled cottage cheese and jalapeno hot sauce, Mushroom, Bean and Corn which is prepared using Chipotle Mayo, bell pepper, sour cream, jalapeno, cheddar to name a few, and Pulled Jackfruit Tacos cooked with ingredients like pickle onion, pico de gallo, avocado and sour cream.

After you are done pampering your taste buds with these delectably spicy and tangy tacos, you would by all means wish to have something for your sweet tooth.

Keeping that in mind, the Taco Libre Festival chefs have prepared a speciality named the Banoffee Taco, which is basically a pancake taco shell filled with spiced  dulce-de leche pastry cream, peanut praline, caramelized banana, vanilla cream sprinkled with coffee and chocolate crumble.

What promises to make your experience even more special is the background music score, a collection of the best foot-tapping Latino music, which will act as a catalyst in your Mexican experience.

Even if the food and music are not taken into consideration, you shall still retain a formidable impression of Monkey Bar, as the eye for detail along with the aesthetics of the place are worth mentioning.

The interior decoration has the traces of a British pub, complete with wooden panelling,a wide variety of ornamental plants, and great lampshades.

The windows offer a generous view of the Victoria Memorial, the St. Paul's Cathedral along with other parts of Central Kolkata, which you can gaze at while enjoying your meal.

The waiters are efficient and courteous, which always is a desired combination.

Taco Libre Festival will end on March 31st,

The pricing of a meal for two without alcohol comes down to INR 1200 excluding taxes, while a meal for two with alcohol will cost you INR 1800 excluding taxes.

Monkey Bar is closed on Mondays, while Thursday is observed as a dry day.

The gastropub remains open from 12 PM to 12 AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays,Thursdays and Sundays; and 12 PM to 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Guests below the age of 21 are permitted only till 6:00 PM.
