Amway India collaborates with Kolkata Police to organise marathon promoting anti-drug awareness

Kolkata, June 25 (IBNS): Amway India, one of the leading Direct Selling Companies of India, collaborated with the Kolkata Police to organize a Marathon on Sunday which is a part of the Anti-Drug Awareness Program undertaken by the Anti-Drug Campaign Cell of the Kolkata Police.

The objective behind organizing the campaign is to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse among people in Kolkata.

The campaign had started on 3rd June 2017 and will culminate on 26th June 2017 - The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Senior officials of Kolkata Police along with eminent personalities like renowned RJ, actor, comedian Mir, cricketer Manoj Tiwari and actor Anindya Chatterjee flagged off the run and handed over prizes to the winners at the prize distribution ceremony.

G S Cheema, Sr. Vice President, North & East, Amway India said, “We feel privileged to be associated with the Kolkata police in organizing the Kolkata Marathon which aims to spread awareness about the Anti-Drug program in the city. We hope that this marathon will inspire more people to live and adopt a healthy lifestyle and say no to drugs.”

The Marathon included two runs of 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers for professional runners as well as sports lovers, fitness enthusiasts and students.

The Marathon was held at the Gostho Paul Statue near Esplanade and concluded at Akashvani Bhavan.
