StupidApp takes online quizzing world by storm
Kolkata/Bengaluru, Apr 4 (IBNS): Launched earlier this year, India's own trivia app, StupidApp, has taken the online quizzing circuit by storm, according to an official release.
The app has already witnessed over 100 thousand downloads and is ranked #4 among the Top Free Trivia app on the Google Play Store, the company said.
It is the brainchild of Kolkata trio Sourav Karmakar, Pramod Maloo and Saheb Roy, each of whom have received a call on the popular TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, but couldn’t make it to the next level.
Channelising their failures effectively, they realised there are millions of others in India who want to participate in such game shows but doesn't have the required platform.
The trio seized the moment and that's how StupidApp was raised.
Another quality of this app is it not only lets participants earn as they play, it also helps to broaden their social network.
How it works:
Players take the quiz against others real-time by answering 10 questions in 100 seconds to win real cash through Paytm.
StupidApp allows participation up to three times a day, with prize money of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 up for grabs in every game and Rs upto Rs 50,000 on special occasions.
Registration on the app takes just 10 seconds. All you need to feed is a secret name, mobile number, Paytm number, age, gender and referral code.
Participants can play the live quiz with friends. The technology is enabled in a way that it calculates fast and slow answer-givers, and based on that information, fast answers get extra cash than those who take time to give answers.
Participants can interact with other players through StupidApp’s anonymous chat option that brings together players with common interests without being judged on age, race, physical appearance or socio-economic status.
Who can play:
StupidApp is a free app.
Anyone with a simple smartphone and an internet connection can play the game and win money directly into their Paytm account.
Though it is currently designed for the English-speaking audience, StupidApp will soon be available in vernacular formats in around six languages by the end of Q1 2018.
"The idea is to reach and empower rural youth too with knowledge and money," states the company.
Company information:
Sourav Karmakar, the CEO of StupidApp, looks after the entire team in Bengaluru,
Pramod Maloo, the COO takes care of marketing and finance.
Saheb Roy, the CTO of StupidApp, puts his development skills to make the app smooth and bug-free for the users.
