Kolkata, Nov 5 (IBNS): Wondering how to glam up the house to welcome guests this festive season? How about some fine designer rugs? Pop into Cocoon Fine Rugs’ flagship gallery in Kolkata and you will be spoiled for choice, with a huge selection of contemporary rugs and oriental carpets.

The Mumbai-based premier carpet brand traces its origins to Jaipur in the early 1980s.

One of the key attractions of the brand is the exclusive range of carpets produced in collaboration with reputed designers.

According to the brand owners, influenced by ancient folklore, Persian designs or styles of contemporary artists, Cocoon’s fine rugs are available in different textures, colorways and sizes to meet the unique needs of each home.

Their latest collaboration with JJ Valaya, a stalwart of Indian fashion industry, has resulted in ‘Isfahan, a line of collectible rugs that draw inspiration from the famed architecture and motifs of one of the oldest Persian cities in the world. The hand knotted rugs have been woven with natural, hand spun silk and fine, hand carded wool. A layered effect has been created in the rugs by intricate shearing.

Cocoon has also collaborated with Varun Bahl, Rooshad Shroff and Ashiesh Shah in the past.

And the company let us into a little secret. Cocoon’s fine rugs and carpets have found their way into the homes or offices of Bollywood bigwigs such as Shilpa Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez and Karan Johar to name a few.

Where: Aspirations Vintage, 12 Dr Harendra Kumar Mukherjee Sarani (Pretoria Street), Kolkata 71; Tel: 033-22907390. Gallery hours: Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6.30pm.
