Talking about the brand, Chatterjee said, “The love for Jewellery is a strange feeling - sometimes, you are simply born with it. This overwhelming love for creating, and recreating my accessories soon transformed into a passion - a passion that I wanted to share with the world. Thus was born, "Sujoy Prasad Fashion Accessories", over a warm cup of tea, when my friend Amita Maitra encouraged me to share my love for ceramic Jewellery with the world at large.
The roots of this brand lie deep inside me and my androgynous nature. It is like the image of the Poet and the Persona in a romantic elegy - the brand is simply an extension of it’s creator. The rural handcraft industry of Bengal has always aspired within me a spark for exploration. This quest for art in its raw form led me to the dynamic world of Ceramic, Clay and Kantha – with intricate handiwork and colourful patterns that could be handcrafted into exquisite collections of jewellery. Sujoy Prosad Fashion Accessories is one such artistic quest on my part - a ceramic tale for me to tell.“
Chatterjee has collaborated with ceramic artist Ira Sengupta and Clay artist Swastika Bhowmick for the first collection. The brand is co-partnered by IT Professional, Amita Maitra.
