Kolkatans to experience 4G Wi-Fi enabled 'Smart Bus'

Kolkata, Nov 5 (IBNS) Leading global telecommunications services provider "Bharti Airtel", in association with Kolkata State Transport Corporation ,announced the launch of Kolkata’s first 4G Wi-Fi enabled 'Smart Bus' service in the city on Wednesday.

The service was launched in the presence of state Transport and Sports Minister Madan Mitra

Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO- Kolkata, West Bengal and Odisha of Bharti Airtel (India) said, “We are proud to announce the launch of Airtel Wi-Fi enabled ‘Smart Bus’ service, another first for Kolkata, enabling customers or passengers ton access the most advanced wireless broadbad experience available across the globe. As a brand, we are committed to enriching the lives of our customers and invite all the data savvy individuals in the city to enjoy this world class experience”.

Two smart buses have been flagged off as a part of a pilot project available on bus route number AC-43 plying on the Golf Green to Kolkata airport and bus route number AC-37A operating between Garia and Kolkata airport.

All data compatible devices using edge 2G/ 3G/ 4G will be able to connect to the Wi-Fi. No extra charges will be leived on the passrngers as of now as it is a pilot project and its free currently. Passengers can experience two free sessions of internet browsing per day of 30 minutes each.

Madan Mitra said: "Let the people of Kolkata enjoy the facility served by Airtel”.
