ShareChat Sakhi aims to educate women users about safety, empower them
Kolkata/IBNS: As the world celebrates Women's Day today, regional social networking platform ShareChat highlights its initiative to educate women users of the platform about safety features that the app provides to help them use the platform without any fear. It is also aiming to promote women empowerment.
ShareChat is India’s largest regional social network allowing users to share their opinions, record their lives and make new friends - all within the comfort of their native languages.
Under this initiative called ShareChat Sakhi a page has been created in all languages to interact with the women users on a regular basis, like a friend as the name (Sakhi) denotes.
For example, Priya Mitra, a college student, lost her father at a tender age.
The family consisting of Priya, her mother and two brothers, were faced with a financial crunch.
It was at this juncture that Priya came to know about ShareChat and started posting her talent videos.
She got a good response. She started supporting her family and her younger brother’s education.
Priya Mitra has an unique follower base and she become micro influencer for them.
The purpose of the initiative is to build a relationship with women to make them part of a community so that they don’t hesitate to share their personal experience.
Various safety features have been integrated into the platform along with functional facilities to ensure women can use it freely and safely.
