Amway organizes workshop on Healthy Living for South East Division of Kolkata Police

Kolkata, Dec 3 (IBNS): Direct selling FMCG Company Amway India has organized a workshop on Healthy Living for Personnel of Kolkata Police on Wednesday.

The workshop, part of Amway’s wellness campaign on healthy living is specially designed for  Police Personnel by Amway India keeping in  mind the stress at work and hectic lifestyle they are exposed to.

The workshop aimed at educating officials of Kolkata Police about the necessity of healthy living with different aspects of optimal nutrition, ideal diet and stress management. This session is part of the series of workshops being organized by Amway India for Police Personnel across India.

At a formal occasion, Ashim Kar Choudhury, Assistant Commissioner of Police, South East, Kolkata Police and Diptarag Bhattacharjee, Vice President, East, Amway India inaugurated the first phase of Healthy Living workshop for the south east division of Kolkata Police at Amway office .

Sixty officials from ten police Stations namely Anandapur, Topsia, Tangra, Ballygunge, Gariahat, Lake, Karaya, Pragati Maidan and Tiljala attended the workshop.

It also witnessed presence of Officers-In-Charge and Additional Officers-in-charge of these Police stations. These police stations are under the jurisdiction of South east division of Kolkata police.

Kumar Gaurav Chakraborty, Regional Trainer, Nutrition & Wellness from Amway India conducted the workshop on Wednesday.

The workshop touched upon various aspects of stress at workplace and elaborated ill effects of different types of stress, self-assessment of stress and stress management technique for police personnel. A Post Graduate in Bioinformatics with rich experience in pharmaceutical sector, Kumar Gaurav Chakraborty also highlighted the need for leading healthy life with adequate exercise, balanced diet, supplementation, positive thinking and adequate rest. He spoke at length about the importance of optimal nutrition.          

Speaking on the occasion, Diptarag Bhattacharjee, Vice President, Eastern Region, Amway India, said, “We feel privileged to conduct the awareness workshop on healthy living for the south –east division of Kolkata Police. Good nutrition, based on healthy eating, is an essential component that helps us to stay healthy and be active. However, today’s hectic lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits affect our nutritional intake and create a nutritional gap in our diet. This may have a huge bearing on how we lead our life in the future.”

Amway India has been conducting series of Healthy Living Workshop for the Police Personnel across the country.

Several such workshops were conducted in India including Balasore, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Nagpur, Pune, Coimbatore, Calicut, Thane, Lucknow and Delhi.

In Kolkata, the workshop was conceptualized by the trainers of Nutrition and Wellness division of Amway under the guidance of D.P. Singh, IPS, Deputy Commissioner, Kolkata Police.

The inaugural workshop was held for 150 officials of South Division of Kolkata Police in the year 2012.

“Life of a Police official is tough. Our Police Force relentlessly work day and night to protect us and today it is our turn to contribute in a humble way.  We hope that our Healthy Living Workshop would create an awareness among the officials of Kolkata  Police fraternity about the benefit of healthy lifestyle. We hope it would create a deeper understanding for adopting a healthy lifestyle and work life balance that includes regular exercise, positive thinking, effective stress management, adequate sleep and appropriate intake of balanced diet rich in nutrition”, said Diptarag Bhattacharjee.
