Jammu and Kashmir: Bahar-I-Adab organises book release function at Pattan

Sriagar: To highlight the literary contributions of two well-known poets Rasheed Roshan and Ghulam Hasan Darvesh, the literary organisation Bahar-I-Adab recently organised a scholarly function at Palpora, Pattan.

During the proceedings of the function, two poetry collections titled ‘Khabe Halem’ and ‘Drav Ne Poshe Wathrun Waash’ were released.

The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo presided over the function as the chief guest whereas a prominent Kashmiri writer and critic Prof Bashar Bashir was present as the Guest of Honour at the event.

The function was organized in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. On the occasion, an array of cultural activities were organised wherein a number of wellknown poets, literary personalities, critics, among other prominent stakeholders presented their literary works and highlighted the importance of promoting and preserving the rich art and culture of Kashmir.

The Deputy Commissioner, in his address applauded the authors for their literary work and said that such efforts play a vital role in the promotion of the Kashmiri language.

He said that a diversified art and literature is necessary in our educational curriculum and emphasized upon the writers to continue their endeavours in this regard.

Moreover, the DC said that the administration is committed to preserving and promoting the rich art and heritage of Kashmir as well as highlighting the significance of the composite culture of Kashmir.
