Kalki Koechlin launches Kyndal's Cutty Sark in Kolkata

Kolkata, Feb 27 (IBNS): It was an unforgettable night of revelry as the iconic Scottish whisky brand, Cutty Sark, made its highly anticipated India debut at The Park Hotel on Thursday and was launched her by actress Kalki Koechlin.
This is the first time, since 1923, that Cutty Sark has been bottled in a country other than Scotland. And to mark the historic entry of a drink that's hailed for its bold and distinct characteristics, Edrington Kyndal India Pvt Ltd (the JV Company between Edrington and Kyndal Group), pulled out all the stops to ensure the celebration was befitting of the occasion. 
 
The creative line-up for the evening reinforced the defining traits of Cutty Sark.
 
Nitin Bal Chauhan, who is known to create quirky and edgy costume designs, showcased his interpretation of theCutty Sark philosophy and its theme of ‘Raise your bar’ through a limited-edition fashion collection. 
 
Critically acclaimed actress, known for her choice of unconventional roles and live wire personality,Kalki Koechlin, was the dazzling show-stopper of the evening. 
 
Kristeen Campbell one of the youngest and renowned master blender of Cutty Sark  also marked her presence at the event.
 
Speaking on the launch, Siddharth Banerji, Managing Director, Kyndal Group said “We are privileged to bring the iconic brand- Cutty Sark to India. The brand has a great history and story behind it. We believe that Edrington’s expertise in premium spirits, combined with Kyndal’s strong distribution, creates a great opportunity to make Cutty Sark more accessible to premium consumers in the dynamic and growing Indian market.”
 
 “Cutty Sark blend will be imported in bulk from Scotland and Kyndal will use its best-in-class bottling facility at Gemini Distilleries in Goa to bottle, pack and market Cutty Sark. This will ensure that the Indian consumers get access to the original Cutty Sark in an exciting award winning pack,” added Banerji. 
 
Cutty Sark is an iconic brand which embodies the spirit of fearlessness, brave, bold & creative from the time it was introduced in the US during the prohibition era (1923), to today when the brand is constantly innovating and reinventing itself. 
 
The brand’s philosophy “Raise your bar” finds resonance with global trendsetters,people who strive to touch new limits and not be limited to their comfort zone. The brand is available in over 50 markets around the world. There has been a growing preference of premium Scotch whisky in Eastern India especially in Kolkata and Cutty Sark will fill the gap. Besides Kolkata, the product will also be present in Delhi.
