Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali singer Iman Chakraborty inaugurated TATA's ethnic-wear brand Taneira's first two stores in Kolkata Wednesday.
The two stores are located in the Gariahat Market and South City Mall in south Kolkata.
Sprawled across 3800 sq. ft. Taneira’s flagship store is a high street stand-alone building located at Shop No. 95/1B, Rash Behari Avenue and is a visual treat to the keen eye. Spread out across 1200 sq. ft, the second store is located at Shop No. S311, South City mall in Jadavpur and celebrates traditional crafts in an upscale earthy setting.
The two stores house an extensive range of handcrafted collections across sarees, blouses and suit sets carefully made with the natural, pure and authentic weaves from across the country.
Chakraborty said at the launch, "Taneira has a unique way of weaving traditions through its skilled craftsmanship from all over India. Being a modern Indian woman who relishes in the heritage and beauty of the country, culture runs in my veins which inspires my music and adds melody to my singing.
"I'm truly excited to be a part of Taneira’s first store launch in Kolkata which celebrates the rich Indian culture and offers you an experiential shopping which is bound to make you revisit."
To celebrate the diverse textiles and craftsmanship, Taneira brings India under one roof through a range of exquisite Banarasi silks, rich Kanjeevarams including revival designs, Chanderis and Maheshwaris from Madhya Pradesh, Jamdanis from Bengal, Ikats from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh along with a vast collection of Tussars from Bihar and Orissa.
Speaking at the grand occasion, Ambuj Narayan, Chief Executive Officer, Taneira said, "After receiving incredible love and appreciation from the series of trunk shows in Kolkata, we are thrilled to launch our stores across the city in Gariahat market and South City mall respectively. The ‘City of Joy’ is celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and strong lineage for sarees.
"This was a perfect partnership for us as our brand ethos also stands for the same - firmly rooted with a contemporary outlook. We eagerly look forward to welcoming the graceful women of Kolkata to both the stores which showcase our choicest range of pure and authentic weaves from across the country."
