Debut author Revathi Kumar talks about how she drew from her own experiences and that of her son for the book.

 

Congratulations on the release of "The Journey of Me & My Son". This is your debut as an author?

Yes This is my debut as a writer.

Is the book biographical?

Yes, This book is very much biographical. It is about a boy who had Learning Disabilities (LD)/Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and was struggling to make his way in society.


What kind of readers do you want to reach out to through your book?

All parents young or old, educationists, doctors who can help identify any child facing the same problem.


What kind of research did you go through for it?

I am a special educator and deal with these children. This book is about me and my own son. So you can understand what research I have gone through.


What kind of books do you enjoy as a reader?

I read all sorts of books. My interest in reading is not specified to one topic or author. I have my own small library at home where I have books on Love Stories, Education, Philosophy. You name it and I have it.
