Bibhas Chakraborty launches Rajlakshmi Roy's book Tri Natya Darpane Garhasthya Jiban

Kolkata, Apr 10 (IBNS): Actor Bibhas Chakraborty launched Rajlakshmi Roy's book Tri Natya Darpane Garhasthya Jiban at Paschimbanga Bangla Akademi in Kolkata, recently.

The book traces the domestic life as reflected in the works of three playwrights Badal Sarkar, Manoj Mitra and Mohit Chattopadhyay.

Sarkar was an eminent theatre dramatist and director. He died in 2011.

His first play Ebang Indrajit was enacted in 1963.

Mitra is a Bengali theatre personality. He works not only as an actor but also as director and playwright.

Born in Bangladesh in 1938, he worked with directors like Satyajit Ray, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Tapan Sinha, Tarun Majumdar, Gautam Ghose.

Presently Mitra is the president of Paschimbanga Natya Akademi.

Some of the works of Chattopadhyay include Neel Ranger Ghora, Dwiper Raja, MitryuSambad.

The book launch was followed by a panel discussion.

Roy, the author of the book, is a doctorate in the field of theatre. She has also acted in various theatre productions and in numerous short films.
