Srinagar/IBNS: The two-day concluded on Sunday at Delhi Public School (DPS), filling the city with the vibrant spirit of books and captivating storytelling. Organized by the DP Dhar Memorial Trust, this sixth edition of the festival brought together renowned authors, storytellers, illustrators, and creativity experts from across the country.

Bookaroo, a festival dedicated to bringing stories to life through various creative mediums, has earned well-deserved recognition in the literary world. In 2017, it received the prestigious London Book Fair International Excellence Award for Literary Festival, adding to its impressive list of achievements.

Since its inception in 2008, Bookaroo has visited 10 cities and held 29 editions, spreading the love for literature far and wide.

Vijay Dhar, Chairman of the DP Dhar Memorial Trust, expressed his pride in hosting this prestigious festival, originally started in London. Following a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival's return was eagerly awaited.

Participants, such as visual researcher and storyteller Nishvan Rasool, praised the festival as a celebration of the magic of storytelling and the profound influence books have on young minds.

Rasool emphasized his aim to enhance the storytelling experience for children by delving into visual elements that bring stories to life.

Bookaroo provides an exceptional platform for Rasool and other talented individuals to share their passion for visual storytelling with a diverse audience of young readers, educators, and artists. The festival aims to foster empathy, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for reading among children, playing a vital role in shaping future generations' minds.

Rasool expressed his excitement about inspiring young minds and witnessing the transformative power of stories at Bookaroo. Together, he hopes to embark on an enchanting journey through the pages of imagination, where dreams take flight, and adventures come alive.

The Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival continues to leave its mark as a beacon of literary delight, nurturing the love for books in young hearts and minds. Through its immersive activities, it inspires children to unleash their creativity, embrace the world of literature, and embark on a lifelong journey of exploration and wonder.
