Apple may be introducing a major change to iPhone with the next device: Reports

Tech giant Apple is gearing up to launch iPhone 15 soon and if speculations are to be believed then there will be a major change introduced in the new gadget.

The iPhone 15 is heavily rumored to ditch Apple’s proprietary Lightning charger in favor of USB-C charging, marking a milestone for the company by adopting universal charging, reports CNN.

If implemented then the move will streamline the charging process across various devices and brands.

The switch would come less than a year after the European Union voted to approve legislation to require smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, portable speakers and other small devices to support USB-C charging by 2024, the American news channel reported.

“This is arguably the biggest disruption to iPhone design for several years, but in reality, it is hardly a dramatic move,” Ben Wood, an analyst at CCS Insight, told CNN.

Tech major Apple is likely to launch its next iPhone 15 series phones during its big ticket event on September 12

During the mega 'Wonderlust' event, Apple is likely to unveil iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

It will be streamed online at apple.com and on Apple TV app.

So far, the company has not confirmed which products will be launched during the event.
