Apple announced the new iPhone 15 series on Tuesday after months of speculations over its features. The new models are iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and a Pro Max version.

As leaks suggested, Apple has introduced an Ultra variant.

Some of the major changes to the design of the new iPhones include USB-C port to Dynamic Island among others.

There are big hardware upgrades, both in standard and Pro models.

Here is a look at the specs, price, design and other details of the newly launched iPhone 15 series.

Apple has said the price in the US market will start from $799.

The India price will also be the same as last year's model.

The company raised the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, recently. The standard iPhone 15 Pro will be priced the same as the old model in the US, indicating that the Pro is priced at $999, whereas the Pro Max will cost you $1,199.

The devices will go on sale in the US on September 22.

In India, however, the prices for the Pro models have been raised in the Indian market.

In India, the price starts from Rs 1,34,900 for the iPhone 15 Pro model while the Pro Max will cost Rs 1,59,900.

The iPhone 15 is priced at Rs 79,900 in India for the 128GB storage model and the Plus model will be on sale at Rs 89,900.

One noteworthy change is the incorporation of a punch-hole display design on the front.

This design was initially unveiled with the iPhone 14 Pro models last year. Many were disappointed that this feature was absent from the standard models, but that has now been rectified.

All the new iPhone 15 models are now equipped with the Dynamic Island feature.

Apple has replaced the mute switch button with a novel Action Button. This allows users to swiftly access shortcuts, accessibility features, launch the camera, activate the flashlight, and execute a variety of other tasks.

Although its primary function remains as a ringer switch, it opens up the potential for users to access numerous additional functionalities, transforming it into a versatile tool that you'll find useful for more than just adjusting your phone's ringer.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in new colors - Pink, yellow, green, blue, and black.

iPhone 15 Features

The iPhone 15 maintains a compact form with a 6.1-inch liquid Retina display, similar to previous models. The Plus version retains its 6.7-inch screen.

Both models feature a significant camera upgrade, offering a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a notable improvement from the previous 12-megapixel system. This is on par with the iPhone 14 Pro's capabilities. New camera modes, including night mode and Smart HDR, enhance the photography experience.

Video recording now supports 4K. The portrait mode offers improved bokeh effects, faster shutter speeds, and more control. The secondary sensor is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/1.6 aperture and sensor shift stabilization.

The A16 Bionic chipset powers the standard iPhones, ensuring efficient performance, and Apple promises a full day's battery life.

Advanced machine learning enhances call quality, particularly in noisy environments, with the option to activate "voice isolation." The only distinction between the iPhone 15 and Plus models lies in their display size and battery capacity, with the Plus variant offering slightly more in both aspects.

iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max boast a lighter, sturdier titanium chassis with reduced fingerprint smudging thanks to a brushed finish. The edges are now smoother and more rounded where the metal meets the glass. Additionally, a USB-C port is now present at the bottom.

Both models maintain the 6.7-inch OLED screen for Pro Max and a 6.1-inch screen for the Pro version. These feature Super Retina XDR displays with ProMotion technology, supporting

Both devices run on the powerful A17 Pro chip, which Apple asserts offers unrivaled performance in the smartphone arena, potentially rivalling even high-end PCs. With a revamped GPU, Apple envisions these devices as game-changers, capable of taking mobile gaming to new heights.

The new iPhone 15 Pro will be available in fresh colors: Black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium.

Apple touts the camera system on the iPhone 15 Pro models as equivalent to having seven camera lenses in your pocket. These models feature a 48-megapixel camera for improved low-light and lens flare-free photos. Users can switch between focal lengths (24mm, 28mm, 35mm) and achieve 5x optical zoom up to 120mm. They also support 4K60 ProRes video recording and allow for direct external drive connectivity via the USB-C port.
