Assam decides to re-open all schools in regular manner from Jan 1

Guwahati: The Assam government has decided to remove all educational restrictions from Jan 1 next year and to start all classes in the schools in regular manner.

Assam Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the state government has taken a decision to start all classes in the educational institutions in the state in regular manner from Jan 1.

“The educational institutes now they are running classes on staggered manner, but it will be started like a normal school from January 1. The state government has taken a decision that from January 1 onwards the educational institutions will be running as normal schools without any restriction. However they will be advised to wear mask, keep social distancing,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said. 

On the other hand, the state government has also decided to re-open college hostels for the final year students from Tuesday.

The state government has already issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to re-open hostels.
