Author and communication expert Mahul Brahma takes over as dean of Adamas University media school

Kolkata: Author, communicator and  journalist Dr Mahul Brahma joins academics as Professor and Dean – School of Media and Communication at Adamas University in Kolkata.

Dr Brahma was chief editor of publications and head of CSR, corporate communications and branding at a Tata group company mjunction for nearly eight years. He has two decades of experience in journalism and communications. He has held editorial positions in leading media companies such as The Economic Times, CNBC TV18 group,  ABP, and Reuters.

Brahma is a TEDx speaker on mythic value of luxury. He is a luxury commentator, columnist and author of five books – How to Communicate Strategically in Corporate World, Quarantined: Love in the time of Corona, and The Luxe Trilogy comprising Decoding Luxe, Dark Luxe and Luxe Inferno.

He is in the process of completing his next untitled book on contemporary essays on life.

Brahma said on his new position, “My father was a teacher and I am proud to follow his footsteps. I thank the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor for this opportunity. Adamas University is a young and dynamic institution and I am happy to be a part of its leadership team. I am confident I will transform the media and communication school into a centre of excellence that produces fine journalists and communicators.”

Brahma is a PhD and D.Litt and has won several awards in communications and CSR. He is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, MICA, University of Cambridge Judge Business School, St Xavier’s College, SSSUTMS, and University of Calcutta. His first short film as an actor was screened at Cannes Film Festival.

He is an artist and loves to play golf.
