Author interview: In conversation with H.P. Roychoudhury, author of Hideous Barack
The book is a historiography of genocide, says H.P. Roychoudhury about his latest book.
Congratulations on the release of 'Hideous Barack'. Is this your first book?
No, this is not my first book. My other publications are India and the Globe (N), and Akhanda Bharat - both published by Power Publishers, Kolkata; My Journey & Sovereign United Bengal, and A Silent Patriot of Bangladesh - both published by Partridge Publishing Ltd; Control of Terror and Terrorists, published by Olympia Publisher, London; Gandhi Vs Jinnah, and The Contribution of Maniram Dewan & M K Gandhi in the Independence of India - both published by Eastern Book House in Panbazar, Guwahati; and An Autobiography of a Street Boy by QUIGNOG.
Could you share with us a brief about the subject?
The subject of the book is the destiny of the Bengali people of Cachar District centering Karimganj, how the people suffered under the leadership of Gandhi under “Non-Violence” bringing hatred and violence in disguise in between Hindus and Muslims and destroyed the atmosphere of “Fraternity, Brotherhood and Friendship” and finally a hope for a better destiny of life.
What kind of books do you enjoy reading?
Political history of India.
What kind of research went into drafting the book?
Political books regarding the independence movement of India, and Assam in particular, and also the life history of all the political persons of the 20th century.
What other languages would you like to write in?
No other language except a little of Bengali.
