Build up your own style: Irrfan at Blenders Pride show
Kolkata, Dec 13 (IBNS): The 10th edition of Seagram’s Blenders Pride Fashion Tour came back to Kolkata bringing back panache and glamour with the leading fashion designers of the industry to taste life in style.
The first day of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour in Kolkata was stunning. Designers Varun Bahl and Abraham & Thakore showcased their collections in the first day of the fashion show.
The tour arrives at its last stop in Kolkata.
Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan being the ambassador of style and substance set the stage by decoding his idea of style. The show started with a narrative session by the style blender Irrfan Khan.
“Style is something which generates from within. It’s the expression of your being an individual, your aesthetics, your sensitivity. Sometimes we try to imbibe style as an external element and copy other’s dressing sense that attracts us. But we need to build up our own style,” said the actor.
Style to Irfan Khan is all about one’s own uniqueness and individuality.
Groovy notes by Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj blended with the essence of design in the ramp epitomising true craftsmanship. The music by Midival Punditz for the tour, kept the audience engaged and excited despite some glitches with the sound system.
The floral embroideries and western silhouettes of Varun Bahl brought elegance to the ramp.
Speaking on his collection, the designer said, “My collection for Blenders Pride Fashion Tour is about revisiting my experiences for last 10 years and bring them under one platter. The collection is a blend of Indian craft with the West. Style for me is global. My collection is for the new Indian woman who is ambitious, strong and knows how to push her boundaries.”
The designer duo Abraham & Thakore showcased their collection which is based on wild silk with a tinge of urban shikhar.
Commenting on the collection, they said, “The theme of our collection is urban safari. We have experimented with the different facets of style and gave a modern look to traditional Indian women. We have used all the natural colour palates and teamed up with black and white.”
The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour bought together an entourage of brilliant artists exuding their style.
