Mumbai, Aug 30 (IBNS): Anushree Reddy opened Day Five at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 with her Victorian and Indian fusion fashion.
“The Oasis at Sunset” was the serene name of her collection, where fashion geometry met fragrant flora.

Opening the show with the lovely Bollywood star Amy Jackson in a sensuous champagne, gold and pink lehenga with heavily embroidered choli and cutwork dupatta; Anushree ensured that the show had all the glamorous creations for a festive occasion and bridal wear.

Working with a colour splash that was initially dominated by pastels, Anushree swiftly moved to gentle hues of nude, peach, vintage rose, beige and then engulfed the collection in jewel tones and bright shaded yellow and fuchsia. Reviving the beauty of Hyderabadi craft from her city, Anushree added zardozi on luxurious fabrics like chiffon, georgette and net along with subtle prints, which were merged skilfully with the fluid garments to make the collection an ethereal formal offering to the New Age Bride and her entourage.

The line up of printed cholis or lehengas was in elegant silhouettes. Cut-out shoulder boleros were worn with net covers and sleek pants. A shaded orange lehenga and choli was a graceful entry, while the draped printed net sari, stylised gown and the silver sequined choli with a pale green tulle skirt were gorgeous creations.

Ending the show was the very ruggedly handsome Rana Daggubati, star of the hit film “Baahubali” who strutted in a black raw silk kurta, double breast waist coat with zardozi embellishments teamed with ivory pants and pocket square. “The Oasis at Sunset” was a collection that will urge every woman to choose it for the most important day of her life.

Creating an enchanting collection for cocktails, wedding and festive events, Arpita Mehta’s “The Golden Hour” was a sensuous offering at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015. When the events are glamorous, the collection has to match their splendour, so Arpita selected raw silk, tabi silk and chiffon in dramatic hues of gold, Sindoor, emerald and finally stunning black. The embellishments were elaborate and lavish as intricate mirrorwork and cut Dana embroidery along with salli fringes and innovative suede appliqués added to the highlights of the ensembles.

To further accentuate the glitz and glamour of the creations, Arpita brought in dull gold work. The sexy silhouettes, the fluid flared creations and the dramatic styling heightened the fashion quotient.

It was a veritable feast for the eyes as the first model in a stunning gold gown glided on the ramp. Soon there was a profusion of glamorous Red Carpet entries like the off-shoulder choli with an emerald green raw silk dazzling Lehenga, brown layered kurta with gold bolero and tiered Sharara. The Grecian gown was over sleek pants, while the printed draped pant, cowl salwars with a tiny choli with long trail and the black deep ‘V’ neckline kurta were eye catchers.

Ending the show was ravishing Bollywood beauty Malaika Arora Khan, who sashayed down the ramp in an arresting gold off-shoulder choli with a panelled net trail and fitted slit long embroidered skirt

For the Winter/Festive 2015 season Arpita Mehta’s “The Golden Hour” will create the perfect glamorous ambience for bridal as well as occasion wear.

When a collection is called “Prism” it has to feature the powerful multifaceted hues of the inspiration. Ridhi Mehra Sekhri’s line for her label ‘Ridhi Mehra’ was a poetic offering to the modern working woman at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.

The fabric choice was rich and varied, starting with soft georgette, chiffon, net, velvet and crépe. The ensembles were ultra-glam Red Carpet options with silhouettes that were sculpted and draped to perfection.

The colours were deep and rich solid hues of black, teal green, deep blue and crimson red. The embellishments moved from tonal to shimmering sequins and dori work to create a 3D effect.

The wide palette of styles that will appeal to the glamazons started with, semi couture jumpsuits, pleated skirts, structured kurtas, cape blouses, stunning gowns and dramatic separates. While the cuts moved along contemporary lines, it was the traditional Indian crafts that added to the beauty of the garments.

The opening jumpsuit with slit legs and sleeves in black with lush embroidery was a great curtain raiser. Rich rose and floral embellishments were placed strategically to highlight the ultra glam creations. A white kurta with rose motifs looked elegant with cropped pants, while cape sleeves were the focal point of a black tonal embroidered dress. An ink blue georgette cape and pants, attached dupatta for a black jumpsuit, organza asymmetric top with slit pants and the rust asymmetric gown with a trail continued the glam story. The solitary red cheongsam was a great addition and the will-power gown with long embroidered cape made an impressive entry.

The showstopper was the very gorgeous, statuesque Bollywood star of films like “Jannat 2” Esha Gupta who looked sensational in a black embroidered gown and net trail. Ridhi Mehra Sekhri presented her version of Indo-western creations for her label ‘Ridhi Mehra’, which will create an innovative “Prism” for women of style and substance.
