Kolkata's leading bookstore celebrates 'World STORY telling' day

Kolkata, Mar 21 (IBNS): Story, a bookstore chain in Kolkata, belonging to the Primarc group, celebrated 'World STORY telling' day at its flagship store on Friday.

About 70 kids actively took part in the event organized by the bookstore at Elgin Road. This event has been organised in addition to the 'STORY-teller's club' initiative of the bookstore which meets every Sunday in the store itself.

As the name suggests, 'World STORY telling' day event saw the teacher of the STORY-teller's club narrating a story to the kids. The story of 'The otter who was afraid of the water,' was enthusiastically heard by the audience comprising of kids who were aged 2 and above.

After the story-telling session, the kids participated in a colouring and origami workshop organised specially for them in the bookstore. The teacher selected and conferred prizes to the five winners of the colouring workshop, based on their age level and colouring skills.

Chocolates were distributed among the kids later on, to celebrate their enthusiasm for the World STORY telling day.

The walls of ‘Story’, which is an initiative of the Primarc Group of Companies, have been adorned with literary pieces specially picked out for children of various age groups. Every Sunday, Story organizes the ‘STORY-Teller’s’club meet, where various activities are planned for the kids to have fun while they learn, at its flagship store at Elgin road.

Eventually a pilgrimage for all book-lovers Story has a massive collection of books of all genres and an entire dedicated floor for children. It stocks over 11 thousand exciting toys and 20,000 popular titles for the young ones.

The flagship bookstore of Story, was launched in 15th April, 2014 in Kolkata. It is eastern India’s largest standalone bookstore covering an area of 15000 sq feet.

Through innovative technology and outstanding customer service Story provides more than 1 lakh titles. The best basket of collectible pens and writing accessories is available in the PEN & INK section. The ART STREET section offers art material and accessories. The Gift It! section has bountiful of special gift items, greetings section boasts of a wide range of all reasons greeting cards whereas the paper shop stationery section has a comprehensive range of house paper and stationery materials of different kinds.

Story organizes regular events for kids and two annual events, 'Winter Carnival' and the 'Summer Fest'. Summer fest includes summer camps which help children enjoy their summer holidays and also do something fruitful. In these events Story has different activities for kids like Fashion Shows, competitions, workshops.

There are a total of four Story outlets in West Bengal at Elgin road, Diamond Plaza mall, Nager Bazar and Avani river-side mall.
