LFW: Shantanu, Nikhil gear up to present their Recruit SS’19 collection

Kolkata / Mumbai, Jan 15 (IBNS):  One of the most popular and loved designer duos of the Indian fashion industry, Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra are all set to present their latest collection, Recruit SS’19 at their first ever Finale at Lakmé Fashion Week.

This Summer/Resort 2019, the pair is all set to bring alive Lakmé, the country’s most iconic beauty brand’s beauty theme, Matte Reinvent through a collection which will be the ultimate closure to the 5- days of fashion.

Lakmé has always been at the forefront of launching trend- setting beauty themes season on season, be it Illuminate, Liquid Gold or Shades of a Diva. This season’s theme Matte Reinvent is all about being bold, intensely matte and yet comfortably glamourous, that ties perfectly with Shantanu & Nikhil’s design philosophy.

Their Summer/ Resort collection promises to take the audience on an empowering journey of the culmination of modern authority in the contemporary Indian framework of beliefs and will highlight the evolution that has led to the emancipation of the Millennial Indian woman.

Shantanu & Nikhil are known for their progressivism and distinctiveness when it comes to fashion and believe in breeding a new minimalistic culture of refined and progressive design depicting gender equality and cross-cultural expression. Embedded in the black, gold and scarlet red color scheme, this season’s ensembles will showcase silhouettes that have been reworked into exaggerated drapes with dramatic mesh overlays over their edgy take on traditional skirts, oversized capes accessorized with eclectic medallion adornments, silk tassels and intricate gold embroidery.

“There is so much creativity and enthusiasm each time we collaborate with Lakmé Fashion Week that brings to light our Couture storytelling. This time Shantanu & Nikhil is carrying forward its India Story with a strong sense of belief in what upholds for women of the future generations. Our design sensibilities are in line with Lakmé’s focus on their new Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Collection, unlike their previous Grand Finale Shows, this time they’re not only focusing on grandeur but also on the understated qualities of design and beauty and that is precisely what makes the S&N Couture Creations unique.”, said Shantanu & Nikhil, Lakmé Absolute Ultimate Finale Designers for Summer/ Resort 2019.

Talking about the association, Ashwath Swaminathan, Head of Innovations, Lakmé said, “Every season Lakmé has launched a new beauty trend that complements and celebrates Indian women. This season our aim is to give Matte an all new meaning with the beauty theme of Matte Reinvent. And we are excited to bring it alive at Lakmé Fashion Week Finale in collaboration with Shantanu & Nikhil. I look forward to an ‘ultimate’ finale with their creative interpretation of the theme!”
