Manish Bansal, Taneiya Khanuja, Piyush Dedhia present collection at LFW Winter/Festive 2015

Mumbai, Aug 31 (IBNS): Fine tailoring and a unique sense of credibility gave Manish Bansal an edge over his contemporaries. He redefined the British Bulldog, with a complete contradiction of approach to its regular combative self.

The tenacious and dynamic personality of a man was well narrated through his presentation ‘’The British Canine’’ at Jabong Stage during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.

Manish Bansal displayed a wide range of apparels from casual knit pullovers to semi-formal jackets, formal blazers and calf length coats. The ankle length pants had the union flag print at the hem and the faux fur detailed collar were a major highlight. The colour blocked/checked patches were perfectly surfaced balancing the desired hunky look.

The bull dog print was smartly incorporated as a whole or in terms of elements showcasing the innovation of print placement. The colouration was a well-balanced blend of dark hues such as Marsala, ox blood, red, navy blue with a pinch of beige, which was highly inspired from the union jack flag. Felt, wool, checks, cotton viscose and jersey were the snow friendly fabrics that were warmly welcomed and synchronized in the collection.

The designer showcased a whole new demeanour of the masculine squad, using a powerful animal and its transition over the time, which portrayed varying shades of man. Manish Bansal’s “The British Canine” was well reciprocated through his remarkable attempt at reinventing and breaking the stereotype in men’s fashion.

Tanieya Khanuja, the established Delhi based designer known for her cutting edge couture line, gradually made her mark globally with her futuristic vision and cult sense of style. The collection ”Memory Folds” was her take on the various hassles and triumphs of life, which she artistically presented at the Jabong Stage during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.

Drawing inspiration from the journey of a woman’s rollercoaster life, designer Tanieya Khanuja poetically narrated this emotional turmoil into this collection with dramatic silhouettes. Structured yet sensual, this ultra-chic and avant-garde line was a feast for the eyes.  An impressive combination of dull and vivid mustard, red and rainbow hues with colour blocking mingled beautifully on the high tech neoprene fabrics to create a customized glamorous line for the New Age courageous woman.

Influenced by the folded dimensions of an origami bird, Tanieya beautifully depicted this theme with the help of textural embellishment and drapes. Rich luxurious textiles were delicately folded, pleated and wrapped to form unusual sculpted details, which celebrated controlled fluidity in its eccentric best.

Each look from this line echoed the powerful feminine grace of the modern urban Goddesses. Tanieya Khanuja conquered the runway effortlessly with her “Memory Folds” collection of versatile apparel and sharp cuts.

Piyush Dedhia is an ace men’s wear designer and the proprietor of the brand ‘SOL’. He presented an all-round versatile collection, which complemented the rugged personality of Indian men, at Jabong Stage during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.

Dedhia’s idea of making commercially viable yet trendsetting outfits highly paid off as the models strutted down the catwalk in finely tailored attires. The silhouettes ranged from oxford shirts with complementary colour pocket details to military jackets and colour blocked shirts paired with striped blazers and ankle length trousers.

A semiformal twist was included by pairing a casual kurta shirt with a blazer and a trouser for a modern-gypsy look. It appeared to be the ideal option for the funky hunks, who willingly experiment with their formals by adding a dash of playfulness to it. The colour palette weighed more on the darker tones such as teal, smoky grey, charcoal black, cobalt blue and a hint of tangerine and white to balance the equation. High quality suitings fabrics were used to create an all seasonal look-book for the working Indian men.

Piyush Dedhia with his label ‘SOL’ revolutionized the often bland men’s wear fashion with a rather daring approach by giving the classic apparels a groovy makeover.
