National Library celebrates Sarat Bose anniversary
Calcutta University, Jadavpur University, Presidency University and St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) are taking part in the function to remember the freedom fighter who was elder brother of Netaji Subhas Bose and a barrister.
The main function is presided over by the Mr. Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, with Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad delivering the Sarat Bose Oration, and eminent lawyer and author V. Sudhish Pai speaking on ‘Sarat Chandra Bose: His Life and Work’; and finally a presentation of patriotic songs by Surosikha, directed by Sikha Basu.
Floral tributes were offered at the statue of Sarat Chandra Bose near the Kolkata High Court, 10 am onwards.
