Prosenjit Chatterjee unveils Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers' latest gold accessories 'Shaktirupini'

Kolkata, Mar 1 (IBNS): Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee has unveiled Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers' latest gold accessories 'Shaktirupini' at their flagship store at Rashbehari Avenue here this week.

The collection comprises of light weight of gold jewellery and has been adorned with traditional, dokra and tribal art form.

The collection represents various pendent sets with a very special expression of mother Goddess Durga.

Speaking on the occasion, Chatterjee, whose Bengali film Mahalaya released on Friday, said: "The team of Mahalaya and I are very happy to have been associated with such a brand. The Shaktirupini Collection is simply amazing and caters to all the generation."

Mahalaya marks the beginning of Devi Paksha, a 10 day period. 

Film Mahalaya, which is produced by Chatterjee's home production Nideas, traces the controversy erupted over the 'Mahisasuramardini' radio programme during the national emergency in 1976. 'Mahisasuramardini is aired on the day of Mahalaya.

The controversy erupted after reciter late Birendra Krishna Bhadra's voice was replaced by legendary Bengali actor late Uttar Kumar. Unable to receive positive response from the audience, Bhadra's voice was brought back in the programme.

In the film, veteran actor Subhasish Mukherjee has essayed the role of Bhadra and actor Jisshu Sengupta portrayed Kumar's character.
