Roots Corporation Ltd. launches first Ginger Hotel in Katra

Kolkata / Katra, Mar 11 (IBNS): Ginger Hotels, from Roots Corporation, a subsidiary of The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), on Thursday announced the launch of its first hotel in Katra at the foothills of the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

Roots Corporation Ltd has entered into a management contract with B V P K hotels Pvt. Ltd. for managing the 80-room hotel.

Located on Lifeline Road, Ginger Katra is situated 2 Kms from the railway station and 0.5 kms from the bus stand with the nearest domestic airport being Jammu.

The hotel is located at a distance of 1.5kms from Ban Ganga which is the starting point towards Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple.

Commenting on the launch P.K Mohankumar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Roots Corporation Limited said, “We are delighted to expand our portfolio to the foothills of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple with the opening of our first Ginger Hotel in Katra, Jammu. We are confident that Ginger Hotel will be able to cater to the needs of religious travelers visiting the pilgrim destination.”

With the chain’s robust pan-India presence, brand value and strong operational model, we are confident that Ginger Katra (Mata Vaishno Devi) will be well received & accepted by discerning travelers.”

Ginger Katra is designed to cater to the needs of families with an option of rooms that can accommodate up to four guests in the family rooms. The cleverly designed Smart Space rooms lets one experience simplicity at its best with a choice of Standard rooms, Family rooms or Suites, the company said in a statement.

Guests can enjoy their stay at an all-inclusive rate depending on the choice of rooms; Twin rooms at an introductory offer of INR 1799 on twin sharing, family rooms at INR 2599 to accommodate four family members and suite rooms at INR 3500.

The connectivity needs of the pilgrims staying at Ginger Katra are taken care with high-speed Internet connectivity. The hotel houses facilities like doctor on call, safe zone, mini fridge, 32 inch LCD TV, ample car parking and specially designed rooms to accommodate families.

Guests can walk into the on premise multi-cuisine restaurant Mantra to enjoy a nourishing meal. 

Katra can be visited all through the year for religious visits to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple, Deva Mai Temple, Kol Kandoli Temple, Maha Kali Temple with sight-seeing options like Bagh-E- Bahu Gardens, Patnitop, Manda Zoo, Mansar Lake, Raghunath Temple, ShivKhori Temple, Har Ki Pohri, Jamavant Caves at a distance of 10 – 50 kms from the hotel.
