Kolkata, Sep 30 (IBNS): Over 5,000 children from under-privileged families started Durga Puja 2019 with a smile thanks to a collaboration between Samaj Sebi puja committee and Max Fashion.

Samaj Sebi, one of the popular neighborhood Durga puja organisers of south Kolkata, along with the well-known fashion brand, recently organised a programme called the 'Wall of Kindness'.

New clothes donated by Max Fashion as well as collected from their in-shop drive in Kolkata, were part of the wall, and were later distributed among the children being looked after by various non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Some of the NGOs who participated in the programme were Hope Foundation, Voice of World, and the Rotary Club.

Arijit Mitra, Secretary, Samaj Shebi, talking about their philosophy of giving, said, “We should always keep this thought alive which will not only make the under-privileged people happy but at the same time remind all of us that the stage of our society is equal for all."

Their efforts were lauded by popular Tollywood stars such as superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, director Srijit Mukherji and others, who attended the Wall of Kindness programme.
