Kolkata, May 21(IBNS) A couple of weeks after Bela Seshe, a Bengali film, struck a chord with the audience, Priya Gopal Bishoyi, the costume sponsor of the movie, launched a line of sarees to commemorate their success.

‘Bela Seshe Sarees, the new collection of women’s clothing, was launched by the cast and crew members of the film.

Thespian Swatilekha Sengupta, director duo Shibo Prasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy along with the other actors Shankar Chakroborty, Indrani Dutta and Kharaj Mukherjee were present at the event that took place at the Priya Gopal Bishoyi store. Also present were Atanu Roy Chowdhury, the producer of the film and Soumyajit Laha, owner, Priyo Gopal Bishoyi.

Shibo Prasad Mukherjee said, “As you know our movie Bela Seshe is about relationships and celebrations and the things that came naturally were sarees, jewellery and sweets. Whenever we Bengalis talk about sarees the first brand that comes to our mind is Priya Gopal Bishoyi. We have used their sarees extensively in the film. A lot of in-film branding has been done in a very smart way.”

Actress Indrani Dutta who made her comeback into celluloid after a hiatus of twelve years said, “My character (in the film) owns a boutique, so naturally I got to handle a lot of sarees and it was fun.”

Sengupta said, “There were lots and of scenes in the film and my character had to wear a new saree for each of them. It was such a wonderful experience.”

Soumyajit Laha, the owner of the store said, “We at Priya Gopal Bishoyi try and maintain a special bond with our customers. This new range will feature ‘jamdani’ sarees with exclusive designs.”
