Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet 2016 kick starts amidst much fanfare
Tata Steel has consistently endeavored to connect with the youth in promoting the culture and heritage of India. A stepping stone in this direction is The Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet, which is in alignment with Tata Steel’s corporate philosophy of encouraging and supporting initiatives that aim to foster and encourage intellectual and cultural pursuits in society. And what better place to promote the cultural heritage of our country than Kolkata, the city of Joy to connect and engage with people across generations.
Speaking at the inauguration, Koushik Chatterjee, Group Executive Director (Corporate and Finance), Tata Steel said, “We are very happy to continue our partnership with the Kolkata Literary Meet, which has entered in its fifth year and the second year of our participation. Tata Steel has a long and rich history of supporting creative art form in and around the communities we serve and the Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet is a wonderful platform of celebrating creativity through conversations and deliberations. We are also honoured to have the presence of various luminaries, authors and legends from the creative world at Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet and like last year, the event has a very rich repertoire lined up this year as well. We hope the people of Kolkata will enjoy the events and immerse in creative and intellectual Adda over the next few days.”
The inauguration ceremony witnessed an enthralling performance of Rabindranath Tagore’s Kabuliwalah in Pashto, by the students of Kabul University.
